I'm a British-born Tokyo-based writer specializing in travel writing and Japan-related features on subjects that range from business to sustainability. My work appears in publications around the globe, in media that includes national and international consumer magazines, newspapers, guidebooks, corporate publications, and the web.
Here is a little more about what I do.
Japan Features
Besides regular features on business, sustainability and travel, I've covered topics ranging from homelessness and racial discrimination to Japanese craftsmanship and bilingual education. I'm a contributor to Eurobiz Japan (European Business Council in Japan), Lexus Magazine, TIME, iNTOUCH (Tokyo American Club), and many other print and online publications.
Travel Features and Books
From the wilds of Hokkaido in the north to the beaches of Okinawa in the sub-tropical south, I've travelled to almost every part of Japan on assignment. In addition to authoring guidebooks for Tuttle Publishing, I've worked on books for Insight, Rough Guides and Fodors. My travel writing also appears in titles such as TIME and National Geographic Traveler, amongst others.
Corporate Work
My corporate work ranges from producing material for Japanese and multinational companies to assisting NPOs and voluntary organizations with communications. I have a particular focus on travel/tourism and CSR-related projects.
